Rock music  is a genre of popular music which emerged in general in the mid 50s. Its roots came from rhythm and blues, country music from the 40 and 50’s as well as various other influences. Furthermore, also took the style of rock music from a variety of other music, including folk music (folk music), jazz and classical music.

Distinctive sound of rock often revolves around the electric guitar or acoustic guitar, and the use of a very subtle beat back the rhythm section with bass guitar and drums, and keyboards like organ, piano or since the ’70s, synthesizer. Besides the guitar or keyboards, saxophone and blues-style harmonica are sometimes used as a solo instrument. In its pure form, rock music “has three chords, bakcbeat a consistent and striking and attractive melody”.

In the late 60’s and early 70’s, musk rock evolved into several types.Mixed with folk music (folk music in America) to folk rock, with blues to blues-rock and with jazz, a jazz-rock fusion. In the 70s, combining rock influences from soul, funk, and latin music. Also in the 70s, rock evolved into various subgenres (sub-categories) such as soft rock, glam rock, heavy metal, hard rock, progressive rock, and punk rock.Sub category 80’s rock that stuck out in the year, including New Wave, hardcore punk and alternative rock. In the 90s there were grunge, Britpop, indie rock and nu metal.

A musician who specializes group play rock music called rock band or rock group (rock band). Rock group consisting of many guitar players, the lead singer (lead singer), bass guitar player and drummer (drummer), forming a quartet. Some of the group took one or two positions above and / or use as a primary singer player musical instrument in addition to singing, forming a duo or trio.Other groups have additional musicians such as two rhythm guitars and a keyboardist or (keyboard player). Somewhat less frequently, the use of stringed instruments such as violin, cello or brass such as saxophone, trumpet or trombone.
